Verification methodology

What we check

Before a profile carries the verified label we confirm three things.

• Identity. The organisation exists as it claims to, at the location it claims, and its name matches a source we can check independently.
• Authority. The person maintaining the profile can demonstrate they are authorised to act for the organisation. An institutional email domain is the usual starting point, not the end of it.
• Content. Programme facts on the page — degree, duration, language, tuition, intake — were reviewed against the institution’s own published material at the date shown on the page.

What verification is not

This is the part most study-abroad sites leave vague, so we will be explicit. Verification is not:

• accreditation, by any government or agency;
• a ranking, or an endorsement of any ranking;
• recognition of the qualification in your country;
• a quality judgement about teaching or outcomes;
• any indication that you will be admitted.

Recognition in particular is worth checking yourself, with the professional body or ministry in the country where you intend to work. A degree recognised in one country is not automatically recognised in another.

Sponsored placement

Institutions and agencies can pay for placement. When they do, the result carries a visible “Sponsored” label. Paying never changes a verification state, never moves a result up an unlabelled list, and is never presented as a recommendation. If you ever see a sponsored placement that is not labelled, that is a bug — please tell us.

Agencies

Partner agencies go through the same identity and authority check, plus a review of which institutions they can actually be appointed for. An approved agency may choose to appear in the public directory; approval alone does not list them. Agencies are required to tell students when they may receive a commission.

Freshness and corrections

Programme facts change — tuition especially. Every programme page shows the data we hold, and institutions can update their own listings. If something is wrong, the institution’s own published information is the authority, and we will correct the record. Email hello@admission.ly or file a report from your portal.
